“We've had a difficult and trying time with all the political troubles but throughout that period, football has been a unifying force and the fans remained supportive. The atmosphere was unbelievable and I guess I felt it more than most given past history. Let's hope this is a stimulant and the starting point for a new future for Northern Irish football, because we've been in the dumps for many years.”
“I think they'll qualify and I don't think the manager should be sacked despite all the media criticism. There clearly has to be a bit of rethink but I do believe, with the individuals they've got, that England are capable of doing very well.
