“Toward the end of my freshman year, I started to faint when I ran around a lot. That caused me to give up sports where you had to run for long distance. I'm able to pole vault, though, because it involves a short sprint and strength. I like to jump clean and exert myself clearing a height after a lot of misses. I don't like waste. Anyway, misses come into play in state meets if you're tied.”
